Ginger Cat Sighting
By: Emily Carrington
What was your first ginger cat sighting? September is National Deafness Awareness Month, and September 1 st is National Ginger Cat Day. So… what was your first ginger cat sighting?
The first one I saw was a cartoon… I bet you can guess who… Garfield! I remember thinking lasagna was some magical food because he seemed fascinated with it. I didn’t have lasagna until I was twelve or so.
My wife’s parents had a large Maine Coon ginger cat named Oscar, and I caught the best picture of him during one holiday season… He inspired me, along with my uncle’s orange tabby, Tracks, to give Peter Campbell his own orange cat.
Peter is a confident, deaf, bisexual man with a temperamental orange kitty and a craving for intimacy. When he meets Abe Yoshida, his veterinarianmeow-meow’s veterinarian, he’s smitten. Abe hides a terrible secret and an even better-concealed regret. During the Christmas and Valentine’s seasons, can Peter and his cat, Tracks, help heal Abe’s broken heart?
